TERRAIN

Still life images from Cypress swapmeet. Mattes in the frames are made from Oilcloths sold at the swapmeet and covered with thin clear plastic. This is made after the common use of these tablecloths (also called Manteles) in Latine homes, showing how the many objects, labor and services are sold at the swapmeet to bring food to the table on these same kinds of manteles.

Currently on view at the Irvine Fine Arts Center until April 19th. /Curated by Virginia Arce/Featuring work from Alkaid Ramirez/Beth Davila Waldman
